Connie Snipes
Connie Snipes received her degree in Art Education from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. It was not until her junior year that she took an oil painting class. Before that time, she would pass by the studio every day with expectation and longing. Even the smell excited her and it still does today. Connie is in love with oil paint and, for her, it is a wonderful and productive addiction.

In her paintings, Connie aims for strong and diverse brushwork, recognizable subject matter with a little mystery and without extreme detail, harmonious and sometimes surprising color harmony, and the intriguing dance of light and shadow. She enjoys painting all subjects, but is currently concentrating on plein air landscapes and some abstraction series.
From 1973-2001 Ms. Snipes was the High School Art Teacher and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at The Walker School in Marietta, GA. She has continued her own art education with painting classes at Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University and Maryland College of Art in St. Andrews, Canada. In addition, she has studied painting and figure drawing at the Rhode Island School of Design in Rome, Italy as well as at the Art Students’ League in New York City.
