“For me, art is an expression in unconscious thought of my love for nature. The colors and energy of the outdoors create in me a need to capture those qualities in a more permanent way. I especially love serene landscapes and try to simplify them to highlight that serenity.” Millie Gosch
Ms. Gosch has painted since she was a child. She pursued her passion in art studies at Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Art History. Later she returned to her native Georgia and settled in the Atlanta area where she studied Studio Painting at the Atlanta College of Art. After a successful career in the decorative arts, Ms. Gosch returned to her first love of fine arts.
A native of Newnan, Georgia, Millie finds the lowlands and rural fields in the area, as well as the marshes and waters of coastal Georgia, inspiration for her landscape paintings which she loves to paint “en plein air”.
