“I never take my art journey, or the joy it brings me, for granted  My father taught me to value the beauty of nature and the creative process equally. My work is truly a tribute to him. I feel so blessed to be a part of the art world and its family of artists.” Loretta Loconto

Ms. Loconto uses acrylic paint for its quick drying and forgiving properties.  Still life and landscape subjects are of equal interest to her.  Also, she greatly enjoys painting landscapes en plein air whenever possible. Her art education came later in life so she feels fortunate to have studied with Beverly Flanders, a most giving teacher at Abernathy Art Center in Sandy Springs, Ga. Upon her retirement, Ms. Flanders asked Loretta to take her place at Abernathy, teach the class, and carry on her teaching method. She was honored and taught there for a number of years.

Loretta is a member of the Atlanta Artist Center and has had paintings accepted in many of their juried shows. She has also participated in numerous National juried shows, among them the prestigious Cooperstown Art Association Shows in 2011, 2015 and again for 2017’s 82nd Annual.
