After working only in oils for several years, Katherine was drawn to colored pencil painting due not only to the strength, depth and color of the pigment found in this medium, but also to the level of detail that it allows her to capture.
Ms. Moore has been juried into many regional, national and international shows. Most recently, she was accepted into the Colored Pencil Society of America’s 2017 International Show in Washington DC, where she received a prestigious award for Exceptional Merit. Other recent juried show acceptances include the 2017 Hilton Head National exhibit; John’s Creek 2016 and 2017 Summer Serendipity exhibits; 2016 and 2017 Southworks National exhibits in Watkinsville, GA; 2016 Marietta / Cobb Museum Metro Montage XVI national show as well as many Atlanta Artists Center exhibits.
In addition to the membership in the Colored Pencil Society of America, Katherine is a Merit Member of the Atlanta Artists Center, where she serves on the Board of Directors as First Vice President. She also maintains membership in the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, Dunwoody Fine Arts and the Atlanta Fine Arts League.
Ms. Moore was graduated from Columbia College with a minor in Fine Art. Although she chose a career in the corporate world, her interest in art never changed. After her retirement from The Coca-Cola Company, art again became a major part of her life.
