Nature, the change of seasons, and the change of color of daylight always inspire her, as do people, their movement and their atmosphere. She tries to capture the beauty of everyday life and ordinary things.
Junko received her art degree from Okayama University in Japan. After graduating, she came to the United States and continued her art education at Cornell University. She has received many awards including American Artists Professional League Dianne B. Bernhard Award, NY and Artist of the year, National League of American Pen Women Atlanta, GA branch.
Ms. Rothwell has had many one person and group shows. Her work is published in five books and several magazines. Junko`s art now hangs in many government and corporate locations including the State of Georgia, the George Washington University Hospital in DC and the M. C. Anderson Cancer Center at U. Texas. She is a member of Plein Air painters of the Southeast, a Fellow of the American Artist Professional League, NY and a Master Pastelist of the Pastel Society of America.
