Currently, in many of her pieces, she has combined the ancient technique of encaustic with 21st century technology using painted images, photography and digital manipulation. Encaustics is a process first used by Greek artisans thousands of years ago that incorporates the use of hot beeswax and pigment binders.
Judie has been an influence in the lives of many young artists through her work as an art educator at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School for the past 24 years. She states that she has found a rich and incredible balance in her own art by spending much of her time in the classroom with children and young adults. Representation by several Atlanta galleries has placed her sculptures, paintings and encaustics in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the country.
