Dede Collicott believes painting is not about subject or technique but rather how the artist expresses the content and the light. She is never satisfied with copying what she sees but instead searches for ways to translate what she sees.
Dede currently lives in Atlanta where is a member of the Atlanta Arts Center and the Quinlan Arts Center in Gainesville, GA. She is an exhibiting member of the Atlanta Fine Arts League, the Brushwork Society, Women Painters of the Southeast, the American Impressionist Society and Oil Painters of America.
After years of experimenting in acrylics and watercolor, she now paints primarily in oils. Her subjects include portraits, figures, animals, and landscapes including scenes from her travels in Italy and elsewhere. She is always searching for scenes with a mood, emotion, and light. Dede has participated in many Regional and National exhibitions throughout the United States.
