Jan Sanborn has worked in Atlanta and the southeast for the past thirty years as a high end environmental portrait photographer. To her, light, radiance and joy are equivalents. The creative medium of digital imaging, or film layered in silver, are the perfect vehicles for capturing all three. Her portraits are distinguished by spontaneous emotion and radiant light, and she considers them declarations of love between parent and child, friend and lover, brother and sister, the elderly and the young.
Jan has shot digitally since 2001 and has expanded her professional portfolio to include fine art giclees and digital paintings. Her photographic images function as templates or armatures, which she embellishes by artistically altering light, color, texture and line until the final result matches her internalized image of the subject.
