Ann Rhodes, a native Alabaman, studied painting at Queen’s College and earned a master’s degree in Art History at Georgia State University. She has taught Art History at the Atlanta College of Art, Georgia State University and DeKalb College. Enriched by teaching, she returned to painting full time in 1989. Rhodes enjoys the solid geometry underlying overgrown nature; the richness and variety of colors in Georgia red clay have been a motivating force in many of her works in oil.
