Billie Mathis had her first opportunity to paint 22 years ago and it remains a motivating force in her life. She never tires of the creative stirrings, and looks forward to the challenge of applying these and watches with interest to the different evolving phases of her work. It is more exciting to her now than ever. She works in two series, one is a loose realistic style and the other is an intuitive expressionist style. She finds them both stimulating and feels one complements the other.
