Ian Greathead left his native New Zealand to explore the vibrancy of the commercial art world of London, the sights and sounds of continental Europe, and finally, the vast expanses of the United States. American car designs from the fifties provided a wealth of material to use in his Classic Cars series. After settling in Atlanta, Greathead continued to display his talent for numerous corporations. The increasing pull of fine art led him to create in acrylic and oil chosen moments in time, asking the viewer to share the intimacy within each painting.
