| Amanda Carder |
Growing up in North Georgia with a passionate love for the outdoors, it`s no wonder Amanda Carder turns to landscapes as her first choice of subject matter. I am surrounded by a world of beautiful moments, says Carder, whose paintings capture the simple details that make those moments exceptional. Whether it is a morning drive taking her daughter to school, or watching light fall through the trees at the gate to her family farm, Carder finds herself looking at life with increasing wonder as she grows as an artist. Amanda attended college at the Atlanta Portfolio Center where she studied art direction and graphic design. Her studies also included photography and illustration. After graduation, she joined the advertising firm of McDonald and Little in Atlanta where she served as Art Director. While still working in advertising, Carder has studied under Frank Broadhurst, Ray Wiggs, Shane McDonald and Hoeun Chung. Carder continues her art education by participating in workshops, studying books and videos, and visiting museums.
