| Lucy Browning |
Lucy Browning has a BS from Winthrop College and M. Ed. from Georgia State University. She is a self-taught artist who paints exclusively in transparent watercolors using a layering technique of thin washes. This technique of applying layers to build depth and dimension is called "glazing". It is an amazing "building" process of working from light to dark.
She is inspired by her childhood memories of the Low Country in South Carolina, old structures, marshes and old fishing boats. Her teachers have been museums around the world. Multiple factors affect the success of a painting, but Lucy has learned what works for her by experimentation and persistence.
